How Winterglaze® Retrofit Double Glazing Works

Winterglaze® Retrofit Double Glazing is designed to enhance your home's existing windows by adding a second layer of glass, creating an insulated space between the original and new panes. This sealed air—or gas-filled—gap acts as a thermal barrier, reducing heat loss and improving energy efficiency. By upgrading your windows with Winterglaze, you gain all the benefits of double glazing without replacing the entire frame.

What are some of the advantages of Winterglaze® Retrofit Double Glazing?

  • Reducing heat loss - installation of standard IGUs (Insulating Glass Units) can decrease heat loss by between 47 and 54% 

  • Upgrade standard to a speciality gas, Low E & Argon IGU, which can decrease heat loss by between 69 and 73%

  • Reduction of window condensation (when used together with adequate ventilation), Winterglaze Retrofit Double Glazing will noticeably reduce the amount of condensation on windows

  • Drier home: A more comfortable home and healthier by reducing moisture and mould, aggravating factors for asthma and other respiratory conditions
